    So I finaly got a copy of Windows and installed VMWare on OS X After fidling with driver issues etc. etc. I got the Kies software to recognize the Gallaxy SAfter Kies had downloaded the upgrade files and started (an image of the Android raking leaves on the phone screen) this message pops up”failed to convert to upgrade mode”Does anyone know what the problem is? and how to get around this?

    I have a Samsung Galaxy Fit, model GT-S5670B.When i connect the phone to the pc, Samsung Kies (version 2.5.3.13043_14) identifies that there is a firmware update available.I agree to do the upgrade and follow the instructions which basically are not turning off nor disconnecting the device and wait. At some point, after downloading the firmware files i believe, the update just throws an unexpected error and stops.     I just got my new Galaxy S3 today (after a couple of years using BB and iOS) and I installed Samsung Kies on my computer. Kies’s interface is quite intuitive (laying out everything almost the same like iTunes) so I created a few playlists and dragged a few songs to each playlist.     I am trying to apply Jelly Bean firmware update on my Galaxy S2 X, but everytime I try to, Kies dies at 0% of the firmware update, without any error message.I tried uninstalling and installing Kies again. It is up to date.
