My configuration is — Linux (as host) using VirtualBox with 3 virtual machines — all Windows: XP, Vista, Windows 7. All virtual disks are on the same partition, all worked fine until today.Today XP and Vista works, but for Win7 — VB disables the start. I frequently want to run a windows app (usually a game) on my linux machines, the best way to do this is via wine, the windows emulator. The problem is that this is quite difficult to do. The apps frequently stall or crash with very little information to use in rectifying the problem. Does anyone have any useful ideas on how do pinpoint the problems/issues that windows apps run into on wine, particularly dll requirements? Many thanks, Gearoid.

Possible Duplicate:PC Blue Screens and then instantly reboots. How do I stop this or find the error later? Sometimes I get a BSOD screen for a split second and I have no chance to see the cause of it. It also happens when I am not at the computer. The event log doesn’t have enough information. Is there a way or tool that captures the screen when it happens so I can look at the cause later.I already did a memory diagnostics test so that’s not the problem.

I have a Compaq Presario CQ50, and sometimes when I am using it the system crashes with a black screen. For the last few weeks my PC (pretty old P4 with Windows XP SP3) has been crashing randomly. It just suddenly reboots instantaneously. We have a few DELL 1950 servers. One of those servers has CentOS6.3 and it’s randomly rebooting, so I suspected it was hardware (no log generated). The other four servers do not randomly reboot.We ran memtest86+ on the five servers and on three of them memtest86+ crashes (displaying an odd and colorful screen, like if a video card failed).I tested an old memtest86 (not +) and none of the servers crashed. I have few GBs (5,38 GB at the moment) of free space on my hard disk (MacBook Pro 2010, 10.7.5). Few hours after I turn on/reboot my computer, the free space slowly goes down to zero and the system hangs. I am on Fedora 9 and looking to find out the speed of the DIMM’s I have in there currently.I have tried a ‘lshw’ but it doesnt display the speed.
