    2.2-froyo sync
My phone syncs with Google pretty often. Each time it takes a few minutes and makes the whole phone work slowly. Is there any way to make the synchronization less frequent?Barring that, is there any way to make it pause when I actually want to use the phone? Is there any way to lower the priority of the sync tasks?I’m using a Samsung Galaxy S with Froyo.

    2.2-froyo performance malware
My Sony Reader PRS-T1 based on Android 2.2 is acting funny.I had rooted it in the past but is now in the “original” state, upgraded with the latest official firmware. The problem is that many times, the unit becomes unresponsive. This happens after putting the unit on sleep and waking it again. The dictionary hangs, changing dictionaries hangs even worse and sometimes highlighting text as well (this makes the dictionary pop up.I managed to get logs and I found the following error messages, just a

    2.2-froyo contacts sync facebook motorola-droid-2
On my Droid2 (Android Version 2.2) (System Version.2.3.20.A955.Verizon.en.US), I fully utilize the phone’s ability to log into a Google, Facebook, and Twitter account, and link the contacts together. Often it chooses the wrong name to display, but that is another question entirely. I have already set the option in …(Contacts) -> [Menu] -> “More (+)” -> “Settings”… to automatically push any newly created contacts to my Google account. If I create a new contact traditionally, via …(

    2.2-froyo google-maps intents freeze-app auto-start
Google maps seems to have an insane amount of Intents registered for it, as well as other ways of being started.Since this is a pretty resource hungry app (especially memory wise), I would very much want it permanently not running unless/until I actually need it. However, Android keeps starting it all the time – for example, when the connectivity status changes (which for me happens pretty frequently indoors), or GPS/network location changes. Is there some way of ensuring that Google Maps doesn’t

    2.2-froyo htc-desire calendar
I’ve bought an HTC Desire HD yesterday with Android 2.2 Froyo and HTC Sense. So I migrated my calendar items manually and it seemed to pick up some connections from my Facebook and my Twitter, which was nice..But:From time to time the calendar app just becomes really really slow for some reason, the sync icon is running, and the items just won’t open. When this happens I keep staring at a blank screen for about 20 seconds which is really annoying…When I check out what he is syncing its always

    2.2-froyo app2sd restore home-screen-shortcuts
Often after a reboot, crash or USB usage, icons of apps go missing. Both in the “Home” screens and “Applications”.Currently I have four screens of apps, three in Home. Some of the icons understandably vanish when the SD is taken by eg. USB Storage to PC mode (because they are in part stored there), but often refuse to reappear even after restarting the phone. Is there config file stored somewhere in my rooted Android 2.2 responsible for the current desktop layout of shortcuts? Or way to back it

    2.2-froyo samsung-galaxy-s reboot
I’ve bought a brand new Galaxy S just several weeks ago and so far my expectations are not met. I’ve never used a PDA before, so I expected it to be a full power computing machine in a hand. 🙂 But here’s what I’ve found out (and corresponding questions):sometimes (haven’t figured or experimented to find out the proper steps to reproduce yet) it simply reboots without any message, notice or any event alarm some apps may suspend the device, which can be solved by forced reboot (there even were se

    2.2-froyo htc-desire recovery-mode data-recovery boot-loop
I just screwed up my HTC Desire. I had some low memory issues so I decided to power it off. I then went into ‘recovery’, and then ‘mounts and storage’, and then ‘mount /sd-ext’. At this point it went all black, I guess in order to mount it, and showed me the menu again. I remember that an ‘unmount’ option appeared. I think I did ‘mount /sdcard’ then. I then chose reboot system now.Since I did this, there is the HTC Quietly Brilliant white splash screen appearing and the phone is booting, I hear

    2.2-froyo video htc-wildfire
i currently own a HTC Wildfire. I am well aware of its “lower” CPU speed than its HTC brothers, nevertheless, it is a great phone and I’m very happy with it.I tried putting a mp4/m4p video (around 330mb) and the built-in video player crashed. Can anyone guide me on the correct format/resolution I can use on this phone? Additionally, if I do have to convert an existing video, what software do I use?I appreciate all inputs, thanks!

    2.2-froyo external-sd
On my Samsung Galaxy 551 I can remove the MicroSD card without needing to remove the battery and consequently turn off my cellphone. Should I remove my SD without turning off the phone? Will I damage something if I do it?

    2.2-froyo samsung-galaxy-s reboot
On my Galaxy S Android 2.2 , I just got the ‘Activiate Starter took too long to respond . Force close ?’, which I did.Now the home screen is black. :)So I killed the starter program, so it seems. I should have looked at the message closer.Apart from turning off and restarting the phone, is it possible to restart the main program on a phone ?

    htc-droid-incredible htc-sense 2.2-froyo
Since I upgraded my Incredible to Android 2.2, Froyo, the HTC Sense UI has been crashing often, but always when I am in an app. In other words, sometimes when I exit an app, I see that the Sense launcher is restarting. Anyone know why that is happening and/or how I can fix it?

Over the past couple of days, the news and weather app won’t start for me. I get an error message and I’m asked to force close or report the issue whenever I try to add the widget to a home screen or launch the app from the app tray. Does anyone know what’s causing the issue, and if so, how can I fix it?

    2.2-froyo voice-command titanium-backup force-close motorola-flipside
In my efforts to free up space on my crappy Motorola Flipside, I thought that uninstalling Voice Commands would be a great idea since I never use it…Now after uninstalling it with Titanium, this message is an endless loop of forced closing. What are my options here? Not sure if it would help. but here’s a sample of the log when closing the error message:12-07 11:49:43.030: I/Process(14069): Sending signal. 2.2-froyo samsung-galaxy-s sms calls
I own a rooted Samsung Galaxy S, running 2.2 Froyo. My service provider is AT&T.Every so often, around about once a week to once a month, my phone will unexpectedly, without warning, enter a state where it refuses to send or receive text messages and phone calls. The only way I’ve found to get my phone to work normally again is by rebooting.Specifically, if I try sending a text message, it just says sending but never actually seems to send anything. I don’t receive any text messages at all (

    2.2-froyo samsung-galaxy-s sync doubletwist
I updated my Galaxy S Captivate on Rogers to Froyo last week. Debating whether the upgrade was worth it or not. There is one thing that’s been really irking me since I did the upgrade: DoubleTwist no longer successfully syncs songs from iTunes onto my Galaxy. On my PC, I set up the playlists I want to sync, and tell it to go, and it only syncs about 1/3 of the songs, telling me that the others failed with unspecified errors, and only 1 of the 5 playlists I selected appears to be able to play.I’v
