mysql mysqldump database-backups
We’re backing up our windows based mySQL databases over night by copying the entire mySQL database directory:c$\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\MySQL\MySQL Server 5.5This has caused issues with MySQL, corrupting a table and crashing MySQL. Not a good idea to back up an active directory. We are looking to turn MySQL off overnight and run the script then. We also looked at running mysqldump. Two questions:What are the drawbacks of taking a folder backup? It seems like the fas

sql sql-server database-backups diskspace
Microsoft SQL Server 2008I am almost completely out of space on my main C drive, and would like to backup to a secondary local disc. I have a maint. plan set to do so, but have a couple questions: 1. I chose “All user DBs” options. Does SQL do 1 by one, or try to do all at the same time? 2. Will backing up cause temporary files on C and therefore max out my drive and crash the server? Thanks!

Somehow, the restoring faces problem when the app is first launched. The restor

php shared-hosting database-backups
I want a PHP based solution to backup database (only data and not code) of a remote server and download the file. I know that Shell based solutions are better for doing such things (running a shell script on local system and connecting through SSH to remote system) but it is a requirement to have a PHP based solution where knowing a URL and having database credentials is enough for a non-techie to take backups. The PHP script can be uploaded to the remote server and executed.Following are the fe

hsqldb database-backups
I’m trying to create a Offline Backup of my HSQLDB (using HSQLDB 2.2.6.jar) as explained in the HSQLDB User Guide: http://hsqldb.org/doc/2.0/guide/management-chapt.html#N1400Ajava -cp path/to/hsqldb.jar org.hsqldb.lib.tar.DbBackup –save \ tar/path.tar db/base/pathBut I can’t find out where the db/base/path is supposed to point. This is the remark in the User Guide:db/base/path is the file path to the catalog file base name (in same fashion as in server.database.* settings and JDBC URLs with ca
