Convert ReportServer database from native to Sharepoint Integrated mode-Collection of common programming errors

  • msdn

Is there a migration path to convert a ReportServer database from native to Sharepoint Integrated mode.  We are using Sharepoint 2010 and Report Server 2008 R2.  We want to restore a database from a previous report server that was running in native mode to Sharepoint Integrated mode.  We have hundreds of reports and redeploying all the reports is not an option.  Is there another way to take this ReportServer database and change to Sharepoint Integrated mode.

    Hi dream4jung,

No, you cannot shift the database from native to integrated mode or vice versa. This is because the database contains mode-specific data and currently there is no process to convert them over to the other mode. I believe the .net program can do it via downloading the reports from report server and uploading them into sharepoint site. But i am not a good programmer and can’t provide example code for you. If possible, you can work together with the .net developer in your company. If you have any concern about this, submit a feedback at http://connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer/Feedback and hope it is enabled in the next release.

    thanks,
    Jerry
