Jailbreak Restore Ipod Touch 4G iOS 6.1?-Collection of common programming errors
Miles Okay, I want to restore my jailbroken ipod touch as it has become way too slow to do anything on it at all. I tried to use tinyumbrella to save the SHS Blob and waited 2 min before starting the server then tried to restore via itunes but the authorization check gets me everytime and it says “unknown error occured.” What am I doing wrong? I plug in the ipod touch, kill the itunes task, open up TU via run as admin, uncheck the cydia on exit tab, save the SHS blob, wait 2 min, start the server, open up itunes, restore, and bam. unknown error and itunes cannot restore. Any help on fixing this issue? Any other programs to do this with? Thanks,Miles
Dylan Hey there, I have encountered this same problem before. My ipod touch went into restore mode when I didn’t update the software when it was available. I tried to restore using my laptop, but then a USB cord pointing to the itunes logo popped up on the front screen. I made an appointment online with a nearby apple store where they restored my ipod touch to factory settings. I lost all of my music and free apps, and learned the hard way. You have to let the ipod touch restore if you don’t allow the software update to complete. Good luck!If you keep doing this with itunes, eventually your ipod touch will not install successfully as a device.
