I generated 2 mp4 files – a 5 second intro file which is created by the script below and the main video about 1 minute long is created by screen-cast-omatic both in mp4 format. When I attempt to concat using the “ffmpeg -f concat -i mylist.txt -c copy output” method, it produces an output file where the intro file plays fine. Okay. I’ve got a few ogg files I’ve created using a desktop recording tool. I’ve transcoded them using ffmpeg once (mainly to clip out the beginnings and the ends). Now, I have 3 such files which I want to concatenate into a single .ogv file. I have a bunch of .mts files containing AVCHD Progressive video recorded by a Panasonic camera, and I need software on Ubuntu Lucid with which I can remove the boring parts, and concatenate the interesting parts, all this without reencoding the video stream. I recorded a bunch of 1680 x 1050 (16:10 aspect ratio) videos, and I want to merge them into a single video.I’ve been using Windows Live Movie Maker, but this only supports two aspect ratios: 16:9 and 4:3. We bought a Mac Pro thinking that it would increase the speed of rendering than on an unoptimized PC. But we ran into codec issues with MPEG and WMV.Our Tricaster PC outputs to MPEG, while it the PC reads and plays it almost natively, on the Mac it has issues such as missing sound. I am trying to join (merge) two or more .mp4 files together, without re-encoding.Here is what I did:Started Avidemux 2.5.5. With File->Open, selected Input1.mp4. I received this message – “H.264 detected. If the file is using B-frames as reference it can lead to a crash or stuttering. Avidemux can use another mode which is safe but YOU WILL LOOSE SOME FRAME ACCURACY. Do you want to use that mode?”. I chose “No”. With File->Append, selected Input2.mp4. I received the same “H.264 detected” message

I asked here tips how to fix Pinnacle Studio 14 Importer which crashes on 64-bit Win7. So far, nothing really helpful has come up. Now, I realized that importing from HDV camcorder could very likely be done with some other software and editing could be done on PS as usual. Output video file is probably standard MPEG-2/HDV-1080i50, audio is separated to two WAV files, one for each channel.What SW can import video files from HDV camcorder in a format compatible with PS?

I am running FCE 3.5 HD on a Macbook Pro and whenever I start rendering, it (FCE) unexpectedly quits. Here’s the crash report:http://inventaweb.net/matthew/fcecrashlog.txtI have no idea if this will even help, as I have no idea even how to read it…but….UPDATE: I am still having the problem, but not necessarily from rendering. Just moving video around can cause it to quit. Or selecting “Show video filmstrips”EDIT: I sent a bug report to Apple. We’ll see what they say.

Onset was unrecoverable crash dx’ed as not-worth-fixing logic board failure by genius at Mac Store.Community-based Apple tech repaired logic board, which made computer bootable, but occasional crashes recurred. Additional servicing was done: new 250GB hard drive, upgrade to Mountain Lion, followed by partial downgrade to Snow Leopard (clean install) to restore compatibility

I tried Lion a few months ago, but had to revert to 10.6 because of the “coreaudiod bug” – where audio via QuickTime would stop working every few minutes, requiring a killall coreaudiod each time. Since I’m a video editor, this would interfere with Final Cut and After Effects, making Lion unusable.Does anyone know if this issue has been fixed yet in Lion?
