msdn1Yup, you can’t mess with that. VS2006 is not a product, check again. Purchasing VS2005 or 2008 would be easier than trying to find VS6. Paresh is talking about design-time license checking. No license checking is done at runtime. You would have to find VS6 if you actually want to use the control in a ActiveX designer. Ebay is an option. Check your company’s records to make sure they don’t actually have a VS6 license. Hans Passant.
msdn2Yes. Only the free Express edition is missing MFC. Hans Passant.

msdn5 Hi Hans,I’ve just managed to download the file. I’m not sure what was wrong. However I have another problem. The license agreement says that unless I own Visual studio 2006 I’m not authorised to use it. Is the a legal way around this because I’m using Visual C++ 2002 (version 7), or will I have to purchase Visual studio 2006? I’m working for a comercial organisation so I have to make sure all my software is legalThanksAndrew
msdn6 Hi,Please read my post carefully. You will get all the answers to your questions.Regards,Paresh.

msdn8OK, I’ve found VS2008 on amazon. Before I purchase it I want to be sure that it includes Visual C++, and MFC. Are these standard components within Visual studio?
