Microsoft Outlook 2007 does not return valid results-Collection of common programming errors

I am getting a similar (same) problem.

I am running Vista Ultimate, Outlook 2007 and I have multiple PST’s open within Outlook. I have search all mail selected by default. Indexing is complete and works perfectly from the start menu finding mail across all my PSTs.

However,if I repeat the same search in Outlook only mail in the default PST is returned as my search results. No matter what I do from within Outlook I can only get search results from the default PST.

I am not using exchange.  I collect all my mail from a couple of POP accounts.

This all used to work fine but broke when I applied “windows update” patches at some point over the last 3 months.
