I am working in a VirtualBox 4 VM running Slackware-current. I have added an external monitor, and am attempting to set up both of them to run in their native resolutions, but am having no luck.I am following the instructions set out at: http://ubuntuforums.org/archive/index.php/t-1689514.htmlBut I cannot get past the step where I add a new monitor mode, ie:xrandr –addmode VBOX1 1600x1200_60.00 as I get an error message:X Error of failed request: BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes) Major op

mysql init.d slackware
A client of my IT-consulting service owns a web-development shop. He’s been having problems with a Slackware 12.0 server running MySQL 5.0.67. The machine was set up by the client’s sysadmin, who left on bad terms. My client no longer employs a sysadmin. As far as I can tell, the only copy of MySQL that’s installed is the one described in /var/log/packages/mysql-5.0.67-i486-1:PACKAGE NAME: mysql-5.0.67-i486-1 COMPRESSED PACKAGE SIZE: 16828 K UNCOMPRESSED PACKAGE SIZE: 33840 K PACKAGE

flash firefox youtube slackware
Some video will play for a bit, then it simply says “an error occured, please try again later”. I’m using firefox 15, adobe flashplayer 11. I didn’t seem to have this problem on Slackware 13.37. I’ve tried installing the SlackBuild of flashplayer as well as just copying the .so from the download to plugins. I’ve also tried different browsers. Chrome will play the video with no audio out (I have an HDMI out configured… aplay is able to play sounds through the HDMI and I’m able to watch mov

linux slackware perf-event
I was trying to install perf on slackware 13.1 When I first ran make at /usr/src/linux/tools/perf I got some errors. And I found this patch http://www.valimar.it/repo/linux/perf_fix-2.6.33.patch And when I ran make again, it issued some different errors as below. But I’ve already installed perl package perl-5.10.1-i486-1libperf.a(trace-event-perl.o): In function `define_flag_value’: /usr/src/linux-2.6.33.4/tools/perf/util/trace-event-perl.c:125: undefined reference to `Perl_push_scope’ /usr/src/

linux iptables slackware
I’ve moved an old Slackware 11 installation from a physical PC to a virtualized in ESXi.Everything seems to work fine except for one rule in iptables, namely the row:iptables -t filter -I INPUT -m state –state ESTABLISHED,RELATED -j ACCEPTThe return from iptables is:iptables: Unknown error 4294967295My googling only leads me to problems when using openVZ.Full config#! /bin/sh /usr/sbin/iptables –flush# drop all /usr/sbin/iptables -t filter -I INPUT -j REJECT# permit established connections and
