Ubuntu can't boot. gives 'no wubildr. Error – prefix not set'-Collection of common programming errors

I used wubi to install ubuntu on my machine. My windows crashed but ubuntu waa working fine till yesterday. Now I am getting a “no wubildr prefix not set” error. Ubuntu doesn’t boot but I can get to the grub. Can someone tell what can I do to get atleast Ubuntu working on my dell laptop?
