HELP: Windows Search 4 (final) does not preview documents-Collection of common programming errors

then make sure the string value data of (Default) is {015CA7C6-DECD-40dc-AAAC-73EA9940E0F9}

It’s the IE native GUID, by using Adobe Reader activex plug in as pdf previewer (standard).

you can also find the same value for .htm, .html, .xml,.txt etc as they are IE render-able documents.

OK, after that, close regedit then log off/reboot. if it still doesnt appear on the preview pane, please try to re index all files. usually works.

In my opinion, Ifilter only indexes file metadata, such text, string, properties, author etc but doesnt create preview of other file contents visually such image or any OLE objects on the preview pane.
