discoverer: Sasah the problem is 3(8x – 5) = -4(7 – 6x). my answer was 0 = -13, or undefined, but i haven’t solved these kinds of problems in a while so i’m not sure if this is right. is it?

thanks in advance.

  1. It is undefined. 24x-15=-28+24x subtract 24x from both sides and you get

    -15=-28 which is impossible

  2. 3(8x – 5) = -4(7 – 6x). your answer was 0 = -13 RIGHT

=> x is no exist(x from empty multitude)

  3. You are correct. It is undefined, because obviously 0 does not equal -13.

    Very good!

  4. Is the question asking you to solve for x?
