Don\u2019t fall for this creepy idea. The <em>ultimate<\/em> logical consequence of <code>blocking = theft<\/code> is the criminalisation of the inalienable right to privacy.<\/li>\n<li><em>EasyList<\/em>, <em>Peter Lowe\u2019s Adservers<\/em>, <em>EasyPrivacy<\/em> and <em>Malware domains<\/em> are enabled by default when you install uBlock. Many more lists are readily available to block trackers, analytics, and more. Hosts files are also supported.<\/li>\n<li>Once you install uBlock, you can easily un-select any of the pre-selected filter lists if you think uBlock blocks too much. For reference, Adblock Plus installs with only <em>EasyList<\/em> enabled by default.<\/li>\n<li>Feel free to read about the extension\u2019s required permissions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>About uBlock<\/h2>\n<p>Some users might want to check out uBlock Origin: a noteworthy personal fork of uBlock from @gorhill with a slightly different featureset.<\/p>\n<p>uBlock is a general-purpose blocker \u2014 not an <em>ad blocker<\/em> specifically. uBlock\u2019s main goal is to help users neutralize privacy-invading apparatus \u2014 ads being one example.<\/p>\n<p>uBlock blocks ads through its support of the Adblock Plus filter syntax. uBlock extends the syntax and is designed to work with custom rules and filters.<\/p>\n<p>Free and open-source.
