I think the problem may be traced to PHP.\u00a0 I had forgotten that PHP had been installed on this system.\u00a0 I uninstalled php and was able to get wds to work.\u00a0 As soon as I reinstalled PHP WDS crashed.\u00a0 I uninstalled WDS, installed PHP and the system works again.\u00a0 In fact, I then loaded Copernic Desktop and everything seems to be running (but w\/o the tight Outlook integration).<\/p>\n
Som of the error logs have been lost in the “restore from backups” I’ve done.\u00a0 However, some still exist.\u00a0 The first one I can’t paste here w\/o having IE lock up as it seems to include some extended codes.\u00a0 The human readable error message reads:\u00a0 The description for Event ID {9000} in Source {Windows Search Service} cannot be found.\u00a0 The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer.\u00a0 …<\/p>\n
Details: The content index server cannot update or access information because of a databse error.\u00a0 Stop adn restart the search service.\u00a0 If the problem persists, reset and recrawl the content index.\u00a0 In some cases it may e necessary to delete and recreate the content index.\u00a0 (0x80041171)<\/p>\n
